JUMPSTART TIOGA
TRAINING PROGRAM
The JUMPSTART TIOGA Training Program educates novice developers and pairs them with more experienced real estate professionals. The goal is to use the education from the classes, the resources of the program and the experience of the mentors to change our environment here in Tioga, one home and one business at a time.
Applicants should have a commitment to revitalizing Tioga, within our specified boundaries. The focus of Jumpstart Tioga is not only financial gain for the participant but also a focus on changing Tioga for the better and we ask that only candidates with a similar vision and purpose apply. Participants of the program should also have begun to identify a project to develop and their down payment needed for financing.

Our course consists of four sessions of instruction, introducing novice developers to the basics of the real estate development process. These sessions include guest speakers and provide participants with a working knowledge of real estate acquisition, financing, construction, leasing and property management.

We are looking to identify community-oriented, and socially-conscious developers who share our interest in improving Tioga, creating residential housing and creating more retail opportunities. We are committed to removing blight and deteriorated properties, and making Tioga a better place to live, work and enjoy.

Education for Novice Investors
​
The program consists of 4 sessions of introductory education. Each course is broken down into sections including guest speakers and provides participants with a working knowledge of the following: real estate acquisition, financing, construction, leasing, property management and credit counseling.

MENTORING ASSISTANCE

After each Training Program, we assign industry veterans as mentors to guide mentees through their next development project. Mentees learn how to create a financial base for themselves and their families by investing in residential properties while working to remove blight and vacancies from the Tioga community.
When a Jumpstart participant graduates the training program, they are assigned an industry veteran as a mentor to guide them through their next development project, providing invaluable guidance, support, and connections from start to finish. If you are interested in being a mentor, click here.
